I am please to announce that my team was selected by enoa for their Opera Creation Journey programme! For information about how we got this far, see the post about our initial presentation to the enoa panel here.
I am working on this opera with Dr Jorge Balça (theatre & opera director, librettist) and Dr Rachel Hann (scenographer / designer). Our project is supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in Lisbon!
Our opera aims to depict queer (LGBTQ+) experiences through opera. The music and staging will be multistylistic, with a particular focus on ungendering voice. The libretto will be based on real life stories. You can read more about our project below (also available on enoa‘s website):

enoa launched in March 2020 an open call for its new programme “Opera Creation Journey”, in order to offer time and space to creators to develop their innovative opera project. s and aesthetics that embody the diversity of today’s world and brought by creative teams from all artistic backgrounds made up of a diversity of artistic talents. We received more than 150 applications and 8 projects have been selected to benefit from the network support.
